Leila Bahari

I was born in August 1980 in Shemiran, Tehran, the capital of Iran. I spent my childhood in a kind family with my artist parents and three sisters. I have been always interested in painting since I was a child. My father worked as oil painting artist but because he was never encouraged by his father, he always encouraged me and that gave me extra motivation to be more eager to painting than before. For example, he stuck a painting of mine that was a sparrow in the middle of my room's clock, which made me smile every time I saw it. i studied Painting at university and encouraged my three other sisters, who also studied arts such as animation, music, and graphics to work n this area. My intense interest in the art of painting led me to become acquainted with many other arts, and painting also increased my creativity and desire to learn. Calligraphers was one of them which touched my soul. After university, I learned pottery inscriptions at work and got a degree in pottery from Alborz handicrafts. In this art, painting and drawing were very necessary, which fortunately, my education helped me a lot, then engraving and painting on copper. I trained and did almost 500 meters of engraving on copper in last 10 years, which is my biggest work in the dimensions of 90 square meters in Milad-Hotel in Mashhad,Iran, which the main skills in this field was high quality drawing and painting skills and colour recognition, I also held several solo exhibitions of paintings on copper plate art, which were well received because the canvas was replaced by a beautiful copper plates that enhanced the beauty of the colours and design. Later due to the great interest in sculpture, I passed Papier Mache in Alborz Technical and Vocational Center and sold my dishes and sculptures at Libra Gallery, which was very distinguished by its special paintings and patina art. During these years, I was engaged in beautification and painting projects on the ceiling and walls in lobbies and villas, such as in the urban metro station located in Mohammadshahr, Karaj. It was a difficult challenge for me, but I was very happy that i could add this experience to my skills because it was much harder and more complex than painting on canvas.. Art is the fabric of my life and painting is the peak of my pleasure, if I were born a hundred more times, I would choose to spend each minute of my life painting again.
